Job Description
We are seeking a responsible and organized individual to manage the daily operations of the hostel or paying guest accommodation. The Hostel Warden/Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process, maintaining a secure and friendly environment, and managing resident relations. The role also involves overseeing the general welfare of the residents and ensuring hostel policies are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Reception and Coordination:
o Greet incoming guests, provide them with necessary information, and assist with the check-in and check-out procedures.
o Ensure all required documentation (ID verification, registration forms, etc.) is collected.
o Handle guest inquiries and provide informaon about hostel facilities, local] atiractions, and services.
2. Resident Management:
o Supervise the daily acvies of the residents, ensuring the hostel environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
o Monitor adherence to hostel rules and regulaons (e.g., quiet hours, visitor policies).
o Maintain a posive and respecul relaonship with guests and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
3. Security and Safety:
o Monitor access to the premises, ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
o Conduct regular inspecons of rooms and common areas to maintain hygiene standards and security measures.
o Address any emergencies or safety concerns as they arise.
4. Facilies and Maintenance:
o Report and follow up on maintenance issues to ensure the hostel is in good working condion.
o Ensure the availability of basic supplies (toiletries, linens, etc.) and ensure they are distributed in a mely manner.
5. Financial and Administrave Dues:
o Assist in managing the hostel’s financial transacons, including rent collecon, billing, and any other required documentaon.
o Keep records of residents’ check-in/check-out dates, payments, and other essenal informaon.
o Handle pey cash and ensure the hostel operates within its budget.
6. Event Coordinaon and Acvies:
o Organize and promote events and acvies for residents to foster community and engagement (e.g., movie nights, city tours, etc.).
o Encourage social interacon among guests to create a posive atmosphere and sense of belonging.
7. Team Management:
o Supervise and provide guidance to housekeeping and other support staff.
o Schedule shitis, manage time off, and ensure staff follow proper procedures.
8. Conflict Resolution:
o Handle disputes between residents and maintain a peaceful environment within the hostel.
o Provide fair and transparent solutions while maintaining professionalism.
