1. Billing & Transaction Handling:

• Scan merchandise quickly and accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) barcode systems.
• Process multiple payment types efficiently, including cash, credit/debit cards, UPI/digital wallets, and Sodexo/meal coupons.
• Ensure accurate cash handling by providing the correct change to customers.
• Verify price tags and promotional discounts to ensure correct billing.

2. Customer Service & Front-End Operations:

• Greet customers warmly as they arrive at the billing counter and maintain a polite demeanor.
• Address basic customer inquiries regarding prices, discounts, and return policies politely.
• Pack scanned items systematically (separating food items from household chemicals) to prevent damage.
• Manage billing queue lines efficiently during peak hours to minimize wait times.

3. Cash Management & Security:

• Count the opening cash float at the start of the shift to ensure accuracy.
• Tally physical cash, card receipts, and digital payments with the POS system report at the end of the shift.
• Report any cash discrepancies, counterfeit notes, or system errors immediately to the Supervisor.
• Adhere strictly to store security protocols regarding high-value transactions and cash drops.

4. Inventory & Maintenance:

• Keep the billing counter clean, organized, and stocked with essential supplies (carry bags, receipt rolls).
• Process returns, exchanges, or cancelled items (void transactions) accurately according to company policy.
• Assist in returning abandoned or "go-back" merchandise from the billing area to the correct store shelves.
