Senior Engineer - Design

Responsible for executing design activities across BorgWarner’s global engineering centers in collaboration with international design teams. Key duties include:
 Developing and adapting design concepts using advanced CAD tools based on customer and engineering input.
 Creating accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, including assemblies, layouts, and stack-ups.
 Utilizing CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, and Unigraphics NX for product design.
 Demonstrating creativity, strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and tolerance management.
 Fostering team collaboration and taking initiative on challenging tasks

Roles & Responsivity:

Execute engineering design tasks (3D/2D modeling, drawings, documentation) using CAD tools like Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD, etc.

• Apply ISO Geometrical Product Specifications (ISO GPS) per automotive standards; convert legacy 2D drawings to 3D models.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and customers to support design-related activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Create and update Assembly Bills of Materials (BOMs) to maintain accurate product structures.
• Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) tools like Teamcenter for efficient document and data management.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
• Maintain and improve design standards, work instructions, and drafting practices.
• Ensure compliance with BorgWarner standards, confidentiality, and quality systems.
• Mentor peers; review and check drawings to meet FTR (First Time Right) targets.
• Perform basic analysis using CAD layouts, stack-ups, and FEA tools.
• Participate in safety audits.

• Gender: Both Male and Female are preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical; Production; Automotive; electrical & Electronics; Electronics & communication; Mechatronics engineering.
• Minimum of 7- 8 years in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and drawing release
• Expert in Creo (2000+ hours preferred), working knowledge of SolidWorks, UG and Catia
• Experience with Creo Cabling and Creo Sheet Metal Package
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
• Strong expertise in ISO GPS, drawing interpretation, and Microsoft Office tools
• Experience in casting design and manufacturing processes; understanding of casting–machining relationships
• Familiar with tooling, pattern making, and casting methods (sand, permanent Mold, investment)
• Knowledge of turbocharger components is a plus.
• Exposure to iron casting technology, tooling, and international standards
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills required
