VMC Machine Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled VMC Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) ( HAAS Machines)for manufacturing precision jigs, fixtures, tooling components, and machined parts according to engineering drawings and quality standards. The candidate should have experience in handling VMC machines, tool setting, offset corrections, and inspection processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate VMC machines for machining jig and fixture components.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, and tooling instructions. Able to understand  and execute programming
• Set work offsets, tool offsets, and machine parameters.
• Perform basic machine setup and tooling changes.
• Inspect machined components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow preventive maintenance practices.
• Follow all safety procedures and shop floor discipline.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of VMC machine operations and CNC controls (HAAS Control preferred).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and GD&T basics.
• Familiarity with cutting tools, inserts, and machining parameters.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and quality inspection.
• Basic understanding of tooling and fixture concepts.

Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Certification in CNC/VMC operation is an advantage.

Experience

• 2–5 years experience in VMC machining, preferably in jig and fixture manufacturing.
