Job Title: Transmission Line Surveyor

Project: 220 kV Transmission Line Construction

Location: Project Site

Job Summary:

The Transmission Line Surveyor is responsible for carrying out detailed route surveys, tower spotting, profiling, and alignment verification for 220 kV transmission line projects. The role ensures accurate field measurements, proper documentation, and coordination with engineering and construction teams for smooth execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct route survey, alignment survey, and topographical survey for transmission line corridors.
• Perform tower spotting and optimization as per approved profiles and design drawings.
• Carry out chainage marking, peg marking, and pit center fixing at site.
• Prepare and verify longitudinal profiles and cross-sections.
• Ensure right of way (ROW) marking and coordinate with local authorities when required.
• Use survey instruments such as Total Station, DGPS, Auto Level, etc.
• Verify foundation locations and tower center points before construction.
• Maintain accurate survey records, field books, and reports.
• Assist in resolving site-related alignment issues and deviations.
• Coordinate with design, execution, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety norms, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering / Surveying / Geomatics
• Relevant certification in surveying (preferred)

Experience:

• 3–8 years of experience in transmission line surveying
• Experience in 132 kV / 220 kV / 400 kV transmission line projects preferred

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in survey instruments (Total Station, DGPS, GPS, Auto Level)
• Knowledge of survey software (AutoCAD, GIS tools, etc.)
• Understanding of transmission line profiling and tower spotting
• Good knowledge of terrain mapping and contouring
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in remote project locations

Key Deliverables:

• Approved survey reports and alignment drawings
• Accurate tower spotting and profiling data
• Proper chainage and location marking at site
• Timely submission of survey documentation

Reporting To:

Project Manager / Site In-Charge

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to travel and stay at site
• Basic knowledge of safety practices in transmission line projects
