The HR Executive in the retail sector is responsible for managing end-to-end human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. The role focuses on supporting store operations by ensuring effective workforce management and a positive employee experience.

1. Recruitment & Staffing

·       Hire retail staff: bakers, helpers, cashiers, sales executives, delivery staff

·       Coordinate walk-in interviews and local hiring drives

·       Manage onboarding and documentation for new employees

·       Ensure proper staffing across all bakery outlets/shifts

👥 2. Employee Onboarding & Training

·       Conduct induction programs for new hires

·       Train employees on:

·       Customer service standards

·       Hygiene & food safety practices

·       POS (billing systems)

·       Coordinate skill development for bakers and kitchen staff

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 3. Employee Relations

·       Maintain a positive work environment in outlets and kitchen

·       Handle disciplinary actions when required

·       Reduce attrition by engaging staff

📊 4. Performance Management

·       Monitor staff performance (sales staff, bakers, supervisors)

·       Assist in setting KPIs like:

·       Sales targets

·       Customer satisfaction

·       Productivity

·       Conduct appraisals and feedback sessions

🏪 5. Retail Operations Support

·       Coordinate with store managers for manpower planning

·       Ensure proper shift scheduling (morning/evening/night baking)

·       Support new outlet openings (hiring & setup)

🧼 6. Health, Safety & Hygiene

·       Ensure employees follow hygiene standards (critical in bakery)

·       Conduct periodic checks on grooming and cleanliness

·       Support implementation of food safety standards (FSSAI guidelines)

🎉 7. Employee Engagement Activities

·       Organize team-building activities and festivals

·       Recognize top performers (Employee of the Month)

·       Celebrate events (store anniversaries, festive promotions)

📁 8. HR Documentation & Reporting

·       Maintain employee files and HRMIS data

·       Prepare reports:

·       Attendance

·       Attrition

·       Hiring status

·       Coordinate audits and inspections

🔑 Key Skills Required

·      Strong communication (especially with frontline staff)

·      Knowledge of labor laws (India-specific)

·      Ability to handle shift-based retail workforce

·       Conflict resolution and multitasking

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field

·       MBA/PGDM in HR (preferred)

Experience:

·       3+ years of HR experience (Retail industry preferred)

Work Environment:

·       Frequent travel to retail stores

·       Fast-paced, target-driven environment

·       May require working on weekends/holidays depending on retail operations
