Job Purpose

Vodafone Idea Limited is having IP Transport Network with around 24K Routers and 200 Data Centre locations for mobility, IT and enterprise services and applications.

 

We are looking for a talented IP MPLS Products & Strategy network Architect to design and manage Vodafone Idea Limited IP/MPLS network. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of IP/MPLS Products of multiple Vendors, features and scale requirements, latest technologies with IP and network Automation, as well as experience in designing large telco IP Transport and development of the future ready network.  Candidate should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share knowledge. Candidate should have experience in managing Managers for handling large roles.

 

This role is responsible for:

 

• Prepare HLD/LLD documents for all IP/MPLS transport services.  
• Handling NLD and ISP domain
• Should be aware ISP peering and internet exits.
• Maintain database for all services & related RD/RT/VLAN/Prefixes. Updates periodically
• Quarterly service audit & corrections.
• Drive automation in designing & MoP template preparation.
• MoP preparation for all type of services.
• Ensure NW security compliance while delivering MoPs to SNOC.

 

Complexity of Role

• Different vendor coexisting in NW at each layer. Need to have deep understanding on command lines of all vendors for end to end service delivery.
• Need to have knowledge for all type of services across all verticals in telecom domain, ISP (internet ) is preferred..
• Existing NW is going towards virtualization. Need to have deep understanding on automation/virtualization.

Goals

• MoP Accuracy: Continues improvement in MoP accuracy & 0% first time correct MoP delivery.
• Automation: Number of automations done during year for faster & accurate MoP delivery.
• No of MoP delivery: Number of MoPs delivered per day.
• Service Merger:  Existing multiple service merger into single service

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Involves end to end Service planning, optimization and performance management of Services planning and understanding about various multivendor systems.

• Discuss requirement with User group.
• Creating the requirement document including IP,BW,SLA and Routing matrix.
• Prepare Solution document, HLD ,LLD.
• Preparing multi-vendor MOP.
• MOP testing and validation.
• POC for new setups
• Creating CR & Issuing MOP to Operation team and NOC
• Supporting NOC team for MOP execution
• Maintaining Data base for IP, VLAN, RT, RD etc.
• Aligning QOS as per Policy
• Maintaining security policy
• Quarterly Service audit and correction.

 

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

• In-depth knowledge of IP/MPLS/L2/L3 Routing technologies.
• Strong knowledge of IP Routing protocols (BGP/ISIS/OSPF/LDP/TE etc.)
• Knowledge of SDN/NFV/SD-WAN/Telco Data centre & related concepts.
• In depth knowledge on Router/Switch commands/troubleshooting methods.
• Should be independently able to prepare data scripts/Configuration scripts for Cisco/Juniper/Huawei/ZTE Routers.
• Working Knowledge of automation Scripting, python and Yang, etc.
• A deep understanding of multivendor Router/Switches HW & its service flows.
• In depth knowledge of 2G/3G/4G technologies , NLD and ISP toplogy & its service flows.
• Min 5 years of experience working with large scale IP/MPLS NWs.
• Knowledge on E2E Mobile Solutions, Mobile & Packet Core concepts and related technologies.
• Knowledge on Network Management Systems, networking concepts and related technologies.
• Be a fast learner, ambitions, and comfortable working in high-pressure environments
• High-level understanding of IP transport security concepts.

Must have technical / professional qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
• 5-10 years of experience working with large scale IP/MPLS NWs
• Cisco/Juniper/Huawei certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JNCA) are preferable.
• Experience in Router/Switches configuration, provisioning.
• 5 Years’ experience in IP planning/Operation field.
