Job Title: Lead Test Automation Engineer

Experience: 10 to 15 years

Location: Hyderabad – Work From office

Working Hours: 12:00pm – 9.00pm IST

Education: Bachelors / Master’s degree in computer science or Software Engineering

 

Must have Skills: Selenium, Cucumber, CI/CD Pipelines, Test NG, Playwright

Test Strategy & Delivery Leadership

• Define, own, and continuously evolve the overall test strategy, including automation approach, scope, tooling, and frameworks based on business and technical requirements.
• Produce and manage the end-to-end test delivery plan, including milestones, testing phases, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
• Determine and recommend automation feasibility for functional, regression, system, and integration testing.
• Manage test activities across the lifecycle—from project initiation, implementation, post-production validation, and extended wellness.

Automation Framework & Engineering Excellence

• Architect, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for Web, API, and Mobile platforms.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability of automation assets using Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Oversee automation development using tools such as Selenium, UFT, Appium, and BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
• Drive AI-assisted test automation adoption to improve test effectiveness and execution efficiency.

DevOps & Test Infrastructure

• Design and implement automated test execution pipelines integrated with CI/CD using DevOps tools.
• Own and maintain test environments, automation infrastructure, and execution stability.
• Ensure automation test suites are seamlessly integrated into build and deployment pipelines to enable shift-left testing.

Quality Governance & Reporting

• Review, analyze, and document test results, defect trends, and quality metrics.
• Prepare quality dashboards, risk assessments, and test readiness reports for leadership and stakeholders.
• Drive Go / No-Go decisions based on test progress, quality metrics, defect leakage, and risk analysis.
• Define and monitor key quality KPIs such as test coverage, defect density, automation ROI, and execution stability.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Lead and manage a large testing and automation capability, including onshore/offshore resources as applicable.
• Train, mentor, and coach team members on test automation best practices, frameworks, and tools.
• Promote a quality-first mindset across engineering and product teams.
• Support performance management, skill development, and career growth of QA engineers.

Collaboration & Risk Management

• Work closely with QA Engineers, Developers, Product Owners, and Architects to: 
  • Identify test scenarios, test data needs, and system-level risks early
  • Improve testability through design reviews and risk assessments
• Analyze complex systems and proactively identify quality risks early in the SDLC.

• 10–15 years of overall experience in software engineering and quality engineering

• 5+ years in test automation architecture and leadership roles

• Exposure to BrowserStack for cross-browser testing

• Experience implementing BDD frameworks (Cucumber)

• Automation & Testing Expertise

• Automation testing across Web, API, and Mobile technologies

• Exposure to AI-based tools for test automation and optimization

• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for automation executions

• Strong experience with JIRA / Test Case Management tools
