Quality Control Inspector

In-Process Inspection

▪   Conduct in-process quality checks at extrusion presses, anodizing line, CNC machining centres, and fabrication bays as per approved Control Plans and Inspection Check Sheets

▪   Verify process parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, bath chemistry) against set points during production runs; flag deviations to the process engineer immediately

▪   Perform first-off inspections at the start of each shift or after die change / setup change; approve or reject before series production begins

▪   Record all in-process inspection data accurately and maintain shift-wise inspection logs

Incoming Material Inspection

▪   Inspect all incoming raw materials — aluminium billets, alloy additions, hardware, and bought-out components — against approved Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and purchase specifications

▪   Conduct sampling-based inspection as per AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) plan; accept or quarantine based on results

▪   Coordinate with Supply Chain for vendor NCR raising and replacement of non-conforming incoming materials

Final Product Inspection & Release

▪   Perform final dimensional inspection using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (if available) as per product drawings and GD&T requirements

▪   Inspect surface quality: anodizing thickness (eddy current tester), surface finish (Ra tester), colour uniformity, and visual defects

▪   Conduct mechanical property verification as required: hardness testing (Brinell/Vickers), tensile checks per lot

▪   Prepare and issue Product Quality Release (PQR) / Dispatch Clearance; affix approved quality stamps or tags

Non-Conformance & CAPA Management

▪   Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for all in-process and final inspection rejections; tag and segregate non-conforming material in the quarantine area

▪   Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) using 5-Why / Fishbone methods; document findings in the CAPA register

▪   Track CAPA action closure with production and process teams; follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective

▪   Maintain the rejection trend log; report weekly rejection data to QC Manager

Quality Documentation & QMS Support

▪   Maintain all quality records: inspection reports, test certificates, NCR logs, CAPA register, calibration records, and gauge master register

▪   Support ISO 9001 documentation requirements: update control plans, work instructions, and inspection check sheets as processes change

▪   Assist the QC Manager in preparation for internal audits, customer audits, and third-party certification audits

▪   Ensure traceability of quality records for each production lot from incoming material through to dispatch

Instrument Calibration & Gauge Management

▪   Maintain the calibration schedule for all inspection instruments; ensure no instrument is used past its calibration due date

▪   Send instruments for external calibration per schedule; maintain calibration certificates and traceability to national standards (NPL/NABL)

▪   Report damaged or out-of-tolerance instruments immediately; initiate gauge R&R study when required

Customer Quality Support

▪   Assist the Customer Quality Engineer / QC Manager in responding to customer complaints: gather production data, samples, and inspection records for 8D submissions

▪   Prepare PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documents for new part introductions as directed by QC Manager
