Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Risk Evaluation (US Market Focus)
- Evaluate and underwrite complex insurance applications across US insurance lines (Property & Casualty, Commercial Lines, Liability, etc.)
- Analyze risk exposure, pricing models, and policy structures in line with US underwriting standards
- Review and draft policy wordings, endorsements, exclusions, and coverage terms
- Assess risk based on US-specific factors such as state regulations, litigation environment, and claims history
Legal & Regulatory Compliance (US Insurance)
- Ensure compliance with US insurance regulations, including state-specific laws, NAIC guidelines, and federal requirements
- Interpret and apply regulatory frameworks across different US jurisdictions
- Support legal review of underwriting decisions, claims disputes, and policy interpretations
- Liaise with legal counsel and compliance teams for US regulatory matters
Tech & Product Collaboration (Critical Role)
- Act as a bridge between underwriting/legal and engineering teams
- Translate underwriting rules, policy logic, and compliance requirements into:
- Rule engines
- Workflow systems
- API-based insurance platforms
- Collaborate with product and tech teams in building:
- Digital underwriting systems
- Automated decision engines
- AI-based risk assessment tools
- Validate system outputs to ensure alignment with underwriting guidelines
