DB2 Database Administration

• Install DB2 servers on Linux and AIX platforms, ensuring smooth operation. • Update DB2 Fix packs for various versions on database servers to maintain security and stability. • Manage table space, backup/restore operations, archive logs, and tables in DB2 databases running on Aix/Unix and Windows platforms. • HADR configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting. Should have participated in mock DR drills. • Support IIDR(CDC) replication tool (Manage and monitor) • Schedule and execute jobs such as backups, runstats, reorgs, and table space monitoring to maintain database integrity and performance. • Utilize DB2 tools like db2look and db2move as necessary for database management tasks. • Troubleshoot database issues using tools such as db2diag, db2pd, db2dart, and db2support. • Monitor databases using snapshots and event monitors to ensure optimal performance and stability. • Configure and monitor alerts for critical parameter values and take required action. • Analyze the issues and provide solution within the timelines defined and ensure to document the issue with root cause analysis in case of unknown issue. • sharp analytical skills, recognized for proficient problem-solving abilities. • Adapt quickly to new environments and technologies. • Should have good hands-on experience on Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation. • Should be ready to work in 24x7 production support model and in shifts on rotational basis. • User management include grant and revoke access as per requirement. Candidate should have an experience of more than 5 years as DB2 database administration with in-depth knowledge of DB2 database architecture and should have worked on latest versions of db2 databases like 10.5,11.1,11.5 etc.
