Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team at BRGR & BREWS. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing our cafe's menu, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a similar role, possess excellent culinary skills, and thrive in a fast-paced cafe environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with cafe standards and customer preferences.
  2. Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards at all times.
  3. Collaborate with management to develop and update menu offerings based on seasonal availability and customer feedback.
  4. Monitor food inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain adequate supplies.
  5. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  6. Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  7. Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils in proper working condition, reporting any issues to management.
  8. Assist with menu costing and pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
  9. Work closely with front-of-house staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service to customers.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve culinary skills and menu offerings.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a cafe or restaurant setting.
  2. Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu planning and preparation.
  3. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  4. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  7. Certification from a culinary school or relevant training is preferred but not required.
