Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team at BRGR & BREWS. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing our cafe's menu, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a similar role, possess excellent culinary skills, and thrive in a fast-paced cafe environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with cafe standards and customer preferences.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards at all times.
- Collaborate with management to develop and update menu offerings based on seasonal availability and customer feedback.
- Monitor food inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain adequate supplies.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils in proper working condition, reporting any issues to management.
- Assist with menu costing and pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service to customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve culinary skills and menu offerings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu planning and preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant training is preferred but not required.
