Job Description

Title - Manager Compliance


Job Requirements :

  • B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CA Final / CA (any stage; strong experience prioritized)
  • Demonstrated experience in Income Tax, GST, and Statutory compliance in a CA firm, audit firm, or similar professional services environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, GST law, Companies Act 2013, and MCA filing requirements
  • Hands-on experience with Tally ERP / Tally Prime/Zoho Books, the Income Tax portal, GST portal, and MCA21 portal
  • Proficient in MS Excel — comfortable with data-heavy reconciliation work and MIS preparation


Overview: This role will be responsible for independently leading and delivering the firm's compliance practice across Income Tax, GST, and Statutory requirements. This is a mid-to-senior role requiring the ability to manage a portfolio of clients end-to-end, lead a small team, and maintain quality and timeliness across all compliance deliverables. The role also involves direct client relationship management and coordination with regulatory authorities where required.


Job responsibilities:


A. Income Tax Compliance

• Manage and oversee preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR) across all categories —

individuals, HUFs, firms, LLPs, and companies

• Handle Tax Audit engagements including preparation of Form 3CD, Form 3CB / 3CA, and related

annexures

• Manage TDS / TCS compliance — monthly workings, quarterly return filing, corrections, and Form

26AS / AIS reconciliations

• Respond to Income Tax notices, scrutiny assessments, and departmental queries; coordinate with

advocates / senior CAs on litigation support

• Advise clients on advance tax planning, tax-saving investments, and basic direct tax structuring

• Stay current with CBDT circulars, notifications, and amendments; ensure timely communication of

changes to clients and team


B. GST Compliance

• Oversee monthly and quarterly GST return filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C) across a

portfolio of clients

Perform and review GSTR-2A / 2B reconciliations and ensure ITC accuracy

• Handle GST registration, amendments, cancellations, and related procedural compliance

• Respond to GST notices, manage departmental audits, and coordinate replies to SCNs (Show Cause

Notices)

• Advise clients on GST applicability, rate classification, RCM, and e-invoicing requirements

• Monitor GST law changes and ensure client compliance is updated accordingly


C. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee Statutory Audit support work — coordinate with audit teams, manage client schedules, and

ensure timely closure

• Manage ROC / MCA compliance — annual returns, event-based filings, and board / statutory

resolutions for corporate clients

• Oversee preparation of Financial Statements as per the Companies Act, 2013 for applicable clients

• Ensure PF, ESI, PT, and other labour law compliances are tracked and met for applicable clients

• Maintain compliance calendars across the client portfolio and flag deadlines proactively to the Partner

and client


D. Team & Client Management

• Lead, supervise, and review work of Associates and Executives in the Compliances team

• Conduct periodic review of output quality, identify training needs, and mentor junior team members

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients — managing queries, timelines, and

expectations

• Coordinate with clients for data collection, data validation, and sign-off on compliance deliverables

• Represent the firm in client meetings and, where required, before tax / regulatory authorities.
