- Managing accounts
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, including ledgers, invoices, and payments
- Preparing financial documents
- Creating and editing financial documents, such as profit and loss reports, statutory accounts, and financial presentations
- Reconciling accounts
- Reconciling bank records and financial books
- Assisting with budgets
- Assisting with budget preparation, tracking expenses, and estimating future revenue and cash flow
- Complying with tax regulations
- Preparing and submitting tax returns and payments, and keeping up with changes in tax laws
- Communicating with clients
- Communicating with clients to understand their financial needs and reporting that information to the accountant
- Performing administrative tasks
