Job Description
About the role
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented and self-driven professional to serve as Personal Assistant to the Senior Partner at Mahesh Sonika & Co LLP. This is a high-trust, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of data analysis, report management, client engagement support and field representation. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical ability with excellent communication skills and the flexibility to travel across states as required by the firm's client commitments.

Key responsibilities
MIS & data analysis
- Review and scrutinise MIS reports received from clients and internal teams
- Identify trends, variances and exceptions in business data
- Prepare concise analytical summaries and dashboards for Partner review
- Track KPIs and flag deviations requiring attention
Report preparation & Partner support
- Assist the Senior Partner in drafting client reports, presentations and notes
- Compile background research and data before meetings
- Maintain a tracker of deliverables, deadlines and follow-up actions
- Coordinate across internal practice teams to consolidate inputs
Client & field engagement
- Travel independently or with the Partner / team to client locations across states
- Represent the firm professionally at client premises during data collection or review assignments
- Liaise with client finance and accounts teams to gather required information
- Document observations, minutes and action points from client visits
Office & schedule coordination
- Manage the Senior Partner's calendar, appointments and travel itineraries
- Handle correspondence, emails and follow-ups on the Partner's behalf
- Organise and maintain confidential files, records and documents
- Coordinate logistics for outstation visits — ticketing, accommodation, scheduling
Requirements
Qualifications & experienceGraduate in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or related field (CA Inter / MBA preferred)2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a CA firm, consulting or financial services environmentDemonstrated experience handling MIS reports and business dataExposure to Direct / Indirect Tax or Audit environment is an advantage
Skills & attributesProficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with Tally or ERP systems a plusStrong analytical and data interpretation skillsExcellent written and spoken communication in English and Hindi (Bengali preferred)Willingness and ability to travel across India at short noticeDiscreet, organised and capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision
Travel requirement: This role involves regular outstation travel — independently and/or accompanying the Senior Partner or engagement teams — to client locations across multiple states. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel and flexible working hours.
