Job Description
Need cafe/restaurant staff for a new cafe/restaurant in Mangalore & Bangalore.
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation:
- Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately according to recipes.
- Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Assist in preparing mise en place (preparation of ingredients and equipment) for daily service.
- Cooking and Production:
- Cook food items as per the menu and recipes under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and stoves.
- Monitor cooking processes, such as temperatures and cooking times, to ensure food is cooked properly.
- Assist in coordinating timing of food production to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Plating and Presentation:
- Assist in plating dishes attractively and ensuring they meet presentation standards.
- Garnish dishes with appropriate toppings, sauces, or accompaniments as instructed.
- Ensure that portion sizes are accurate and consistent for each dish.
- Kitchen Hygiene and Sanitation:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage and handling of food items.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly.
- Dispose of waste and food scraps properly and in accordance with hygiene regulations.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding food production and kitchen needs.
- Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen staff as needed.
