Job Description

Need cafe/restaurant staff for a new cafe/restaurant in Mangalore & Bangalore.


Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation:
  • Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
  • Measure and weigh ingredients accurately according to recipes.
  • Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in food quality.
  • Assist in preparing mise en place (preparation of ingredients and equipment) for daily service.
  1. Cooking and Production:
  • Cook food items as per the menu and recipes under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and stoves.
  • Monitor cooking processes, such as temperatures and cooking times, to ensure food is cooked properly.
  • Assist in coordinating timing of food production to ensure timely service during busy periods.
  1. Plating and Presentation:
  • Assist in plating dishes attractively and ensuring they meet presentation standards.
  • Garnish dishes with appropriate toppings, sauces, or accompaniments as instructed.
  • Ensure that portion sizes are accurate and consistent for each dish.
  1. Kitchen Hygiene and Sanitation:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage and handling of food items.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly.
  • Dispose of waste and food scraps properly and in accordance with hygiene regulations.
  1. Teamwork and Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding food production and kitchen needs.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen staff as needed.
