Accounts Head / Finance Head
Role OverviewThe Accounts Head / Finance Head will be responsible for managing the complete accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and banking operations of the organization. The role requires strong expertise in financial controls, GST compliance, MIS reporting, and coordination with auditors, banks, and management to ensure smooth financial operations and regulatory compliance.
- Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage complete accounting operations including billing, invoicing, purchase accounting, and receipt entries.
- Process and monitor vendor payments and customer receipts.
- Perform regular bank reconciliation and maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain General Ledger, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, and Balance Sheet.
- Handle monthly and annual financial closing activities.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost control measures.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
2. Stock & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of raw material and finished goods inventory.
- Monitor inward and outward stock entries in coordination with warehouse/operations teams.
- Perform stock reconciliation between physical inventory and system records.
- Handle inventory valuation and reporting.
- Track RMA / returned goods / defective inventory.
- Monitor minimum stock levels and support reorder planning.
- Generate stock reports for management review and audit purposes.
3. GST & Indirect Tax Compliance
- Filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).
- Reconciliation of GSTR-2B with purchase records.
- Manage Input Tax Credit reconciliation.
- Handle E-Invoice and E-Way Bill generation and compliance.
- Address GST notices, assessments, and departmental queries.
- Ensure compliance for interstate sales and distributor transactions.
4. Income Tax & Direct Tax Compliance
- Manage TDS deduction and return filing (24Q, 26Q etc.).
- Calculate and manage advance tax payments.
- Support company income tax return filing.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and Chartered Accountants.
- Handle income tax notices, assessments, or scrutiny if required.
5. Banking & Finance Management
- Manage Bank CC / OD / Term Loan (TL) limits.
- Prepare stock statements and drawing power reports for banks.
- Coordinate with banks for:
- Loan documentation
- Limit renewal
- CMA data submission
- LC / BG documentation
- Handle bank reconciliation and cash flow planning.
- Monitor fund utilization and working capital management.
6. Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with Statutory Auditors and Chartered Accountants.
- Prepare documentation for Statutory Audit and Internal Audit.
- Support Bank Audits and financial verifications.
- Maintain audit schedules and financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act and ROC requirements.
7. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly MIS reports for management.
- Conduct sales, expense, and profitability analysis.
- Prepare budget vs actual performance reports.
- Perform margin and profitability analysis by product/division.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial projections.
8. Vendor & Receivable Management
- Perform vendor reconciliation and payment planning.
- Monitor distributor and dealer outstanding balances.
- Implement credit control and receivable monitoring.
- Manage payment cycles and collections.
9. Systems & Process Management
- Manage and maintain TallyPrime accounting system.
- Improve financial process automation and efficiency.
- Implement internal financial controls.
- Develop documentation and SOPs for finance processes.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting
- Expertise in GST, TDS, and Indian tax compliance
- Experience with banking documentation and working capital management
- Strong analytical and MIS reporting skills
- Proficiency in Tally and MS Excel
- Ability to coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
