EY GDS Consulting – Non-financial Services – Learning and Development – Associate Director

As part of our Risk Consulting team, you will help leadership to identify skilling and upskilling needs, and come up with practical solutions to fill the gap. Working with EY-high performing teams, you will have the opportunity to formulate learning and development strategy and help teams’ performance by translating this strategy into reality.

The opportunity
As Risk Consulting Associate Director, you'll actively establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships. With the guidance of partners, directors, and other Associate Directors, you'll identify potential business opportunities for EY.
You'll actively contribute to solution enhancements, improving operational efficiency and internal initiatives. In line with our commitment for development of our people, you'll consistently drive projects to bridge the skill gap and help create workforce of the future. When working on these initiatives, you'll report to the leadership, who will expect you to anticipate and identify challenges, and raise any issues with them as appropriate.
As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach, and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.


Your key responsibilities

Business Responsibilities

  • Learning & Upskilling strategy: Interact with Solution leaders to discuss the learning and upskilling needs for the year in line with business priorities. Develop learning plan and strategy
  • Learning Need assessment & creating calendars:
    • Interacting with various stakeholders and understanding the learning and upskilling priorities for the year
    • Review the requirements collated by the team and provide solution for new requirements wherever required
    • Review yearly/ quarterly calendars
    • Assess gaps and provide solutions for filling the same through new programs; initiatives
  • Learning solutions, New programs, and initiatives
    • Design, implement and evaluate learning and upskilling programs that align with business objectives
    • Ideate new programs and initiatives basis learning gaps identified, business priorities, trends, inputs from leaders, etc.
    • Conceptualise new programs; create/ Laisse with SMRs to create programs and content and roll out
    • Constantly thrive for improving and adopting best practices to be at pace with the changing ecosystem
    • Laise wth central teams to deploy centrally driven programs
    • Identify need of external programs and liase with central teams to identify and assess vendors and deploy such programs
  • Learning Technology Integration
    • Stay updated on learning technologies and tools to enhance training delivery and effectiveness
    • Integrate technology-driven solutions to optimize the learning experience
  • Building and maintaining the learning brand: Contribute towards building and maintaining learning brand by keep pace with business priorities, providing timely and relevant learning solutions, monitoring and working towards improving feedback scores and adapting new trends and technologies
  • Budget monitoring: Monitor learning & upskilling budget and ensure effective usage
  • Monitoring and reporting on learning initiatives/programs
    • Monitor deployment and take appropriate actions on escalations
    • Review learning MIS and analyse trends. Take appropriate actions if required
    • Monitor and review other matrices regarding the initiatives and certifications launched and take appropriate actions when required
    • Review and publish dashboards
    • Provide inputs for various newsletters, internal reviews, etc.
    • Monitor feedback scores for programs
    • Reporting overall learning status to Leadership
  • Emerge as a key facilitator for learning programs
  • Identify and reward learning contributions (content development, facilitation, etc.)
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of learning solutions.

People Responsibilities

  • Develop people through effective coaching and mentoring
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback
  • Contribute to people-related initiatives including recruiting, retaining, appraisal and training
  • Focus on develop skills of team members continually

Decision-Making Responsibilities:

  • Bring out of the box thinking mindset, and analytical thinking capability to provide effective and efficient solutions
  • Always maintain connections with internal stakeholders to identify chaging needs and trends for skilling and upskilling and ensure agile deployment of learning solutions
  • Understand the process gaps and propose preventive/corrective action where appropriate
  • Support management in workforce planning and resourcing strategy


To qualify for the role, you must have

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in team management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong written and presentational skills; ability to communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences
  • Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations
  • Team leader; self-driven and ability to work independently

Qualifications :

  • A strong academic record including a post-graduate degree
  • 14+ years experience in delivery risk solutions and in Learning & Development with focus on content creation and delivery
  • Extensive experience in designing and facilitating technical learning solutions
  • Professional experience with other Big4 is preferred
