TIG Welder Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

After-sales activities are the prime job. Should be willing to travel extensively for site installation of Steel Belt and repairing work activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES

Working as a TIG welder involves carrying out various welding functions.

Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment required for TIG welding

Measure and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, and calipers

Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations

Carrying out welding operations in accordance with appropriate welding procedure.

Oversee the set-up of TIG welding equipment

Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers

Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium

Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codes

Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements

This position involves extensive travel for longer periods of time.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Good skills in Hindi and English, both written and verbal are important, as documentation after completion of assignments is done. 

Additionally, the basic knowledge of electrical work, technical knowledge of hydraulics and mechanics will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

Must have five to six years' experience of similar work. 

EDUCATION

Welding course completed from any government ITI institute.
