What does a successful DevOps Engineer do at Fiserv?

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD practices. This role involves leading initiatives to improve deployment reliability, scalability, and security using tools such as Kubernetes, SaltStack, ArgoCD, AWS, Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, and Helm.

What will you do:

• Architect and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure on AWS using Kubernetes and containerization best practices.
• Lead infrastructure automation efforts using SaltStack and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Design and manage GitOps workflows with ArgoCD, integrating with GitLab repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure deployments.
• Build and maintain Docker containers and Helm charts for application packaging and deployment.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to streamline release processes and enforce DevSecOps practices.
• Monitor system performance and availability using modern observability tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices across teams.

What you will need to have:

• 11+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of SaltStack for configuration management.
• Proven experience with ArgoCD and GitOps workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in AWS cloud services.
• Expertise in Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipeline development.
• Solid understanding of Docker and container orchestration.
• Experience with Helm for Kubernetes deployments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

What would be great to have:

• Certifications in AWS or Kubernetes (e.g., CKA, CKAD, AWS DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
• Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Background in security and compliance in cloud environments.
