Industrial Safety Officer

Job description:

The Construction Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations on construction sites. The role focuses on identifying hazards, enforcing safety standards, conducting inspections, and promoting a safe working environment for all site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce site-specific Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plans.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Proactively identify unsafe acts and conditions and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, construction safety standards, and project HSE requirements.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all site workers.
• Deliver site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, excavation, hot works, and confined spaces.
• Maintain safety documentation including permits, inspection records, incident reports, and training logs.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and conduct emergency drills.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities on safety matters.
• Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement on site

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Fire & Safety Management.
• 6 years of experience in Industrial Fire & Safety, preferably on large-scale projects in construction.
• Good communication and observation skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in construction environments.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
