Position: Junior Technician



ROLES & RENSPONSBILITES FOR SOLAR TECHNICIAN:

Key Required Skills:

• Basic knowledge of DC & AC electrical systems.

• Ability to read SLD and layout drawings.

• Knowledge of tools: Multimeter, Clamp meter.

• Understanding of solar modules, inverters, and protection systems.

Site Preparation & Installation:

• Install solar panels on rooftop / shed / ground-mount structures.

• Assemble and fix module mounting structures (MMS).

• Ensure proper tilt angle and orientation as per design.

• Tighten fasteners with correct torque specifications.

• Follow layout drawings and string configuration.

• Site Measurement.

Electrical Wiring & Connections:

• Perform DC string wiring and connections.

• Connect modules to String Combiner Boxes (SCB).

• Lay DC & AC cables as per routing plan.

• Connect inverter, LT panel.

• Ensure proper crimping, ferruling, and cable dressing.

Earthing & Lightning Protection:

• Install module earthing and equipment earthing.

• Connect LA (Lightning Arrester) to dedicated earth pit.

Testing & Commissioning:

• Check string voltage and polarity before inverter connection.

• Perform continuity tests.

• Assist in inverter commissioning.

• Monitor generation during initial startup.

• Troubleshoot faults and rectify issues.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Regular module cleaning and visual inspection.

• Check loose connections, hotspots, and damaged cables.

• Replace faulty MC4 connectors or modules.

• Attend breakdown maintenance.

Safety Responsibilities:

• Work safely at heights (use harness & helmets).

• Team Handling.
