Purchase Manager

Job Title: Purchase Executive (5–10 Years’ Experience)

Industry: Manufacturing / Production

Work Location: Peenya, Bangalore

Education: BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform detailed cost analysis of components, including raw materials, machining, fabrication, tooling, and overheads (should costing).
2. Evaluate supplier quotations through cost breakdown analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
3. Work closely with engineering and production teams to validate product costing, feasibility, and cost optimization opportunities.
4. Track fluctuations in raw material prices and update procurement strategies accordingly.
5. Develop and onboard suppliers for sheet metal, die-cast, rubber parts, and other components based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
6. Research, evaluate, and qualify potential vendors and suppliers to build a strong and reliable supplier base.
7. Lead price negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best commercial terms (pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules).
8. Manage end-to-end procurement processes for sheet materials and automotive components, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.
9. Monitor inventory levels to maintain optimal stock, avoiding shortages or overstocking.
10. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining required quality standards.
11. Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
12. Maintain supplier relationships and conduct periodic performance evaluations.
13. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement standards.
14. Support budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate cost and procurement data.

Key Skills:

• Strong expertise in costing and cost analysis (should costing, BOM analysis)
• Proficiency in handling sheet metal and related materials
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Good communication and coordination skills
