Job Summary:

The Logistics Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions related to transportation, freight, and dispatch operations. The role ensures accurate accounting, cost control, and timely payments to transporters while maintaining compliance with taxation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and process freight bills, transport invoices, and vendor payments
• Maintain records of dispatch-wise transportation costs (per ton/km basis)
• Reconcile transporter accounts and outstanding balances
• Handle GRN (Goods Receipt Note), LR verification, and billing accuracy
• Monitor and control freight expenses and logistics costs
• Prepare cost analysis reports for management (route-wise, party-wise)
• Ensure proper accounting entries for dispatch, freight, shortages, and damages
• Coordinate with logistics team for dispatch details and documentation
• Manage GST compliance (input credit, invoice validation, e-way bills)
• Assist in monthly closing, audits, and financial reporting
• Track and report advances given to transporters and settlements
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in logistics operations

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and freight accounting
• Good understanding of logistics operations and transporter billing
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Experience in ERP/SAP/Tally
• Knowledge of GST and e-way bill system
• Attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication and coordination ability

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) / Finance / Accounting
• 2–5 years of experience in logistics accounting / transport accounting
• Experience in cement or bulk material industry is preferred
