The candidate will join a team that is responsible for maintaining critical information systems, servers, assets, and network infrastructure. Technology at Systel is continually evolving so a successful candidate will also be involved with research, innovation, and implementation of IT systems and processes such as disaster recovery, network monitoring, network segmentation, and high availability. Experience supporting all aspects of a Microsoft Windows network including Microsoft and third-party applications, Windows servers, WAN, LAN, and WLAN connectivity is required. The candidate must also have good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work without direct supervision. The position has plenty of career and knowledge growth opportunities in Systems Administration, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, and Software Development. 5.0 Roles and Responsibilities: 5.1 Systems Administrator 5.1.1 Assign, update, and maintain security permissions 5.1.2 Build, test, and deploy servers and network equipment as needed 5.1.3 Install, test, and deploy business applications as needed 5.1.4 Enforce backup and recovery practices to minimize business loss 5.1.5 Manage Systel network infrastructure and equipment while enforcing network policies 5.1.6 Keep up with the latest industry trends and technology by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations. 5.2 Systems Maintenance 5.2.1 Use analytics and metrics to proactively monitor severs, applications, and networks. 5.2.2 Investigate and resolve problems when alerted by a user or monitoring system 5.2.3 Upgrade business critical servers & applications on a regular basis with minimal impact on users 5.2.4 Upgrade network infrastructure on a regular basis with minimal impact on users 5.2.5 Perform system audits periodically to ensure performance and compliance with IT Policy 5.3 Business Initiatives 5.3.1 Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative 5.3.2 Partner with internal/external partners to research, design, and implement IT solutions for business needs 5.3.3 Communicate project status, activities, and achievements 5.4 IT Support 5.4.1 Respond to and resolve support requests from users within defined SLAs 5.4.2 Install and configure hardware/software according to IT policy and user needs 5.4.3 Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware 5.5 Documentation 5.5.1 Accurately maintain records of repair, transactions, problems, and action taken 5.5.2 Participate in defining and following department standards in documentation 5.5.3 Actively document new processes and procedures 5.5.4 Actively work to improve documentation 5.6 All other assigned tasks and duties 5.7 All work activities shall be conducted in a manner that supports Systel’s Quality Manual, Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, System Level Procedures (SLP) and Work Instructions (WI). 6 Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements 6.1 Education 6.1.1 Degree in Information Technology or related field. Alternatively, vocational schooling with IT coursework. 6.2 Experience 6.2.1 At least Five years of work experience in systems administration or similar technical positions. 6.2.2 Owning a project from concept to implementation 6.2.3 Systems design and integration 6.2.4 Cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure) is a plus 6.3 Knowledge Requirements 6.1.1 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows Server 2016+. 6.1.2 Advanced knowledge of computer internals to build a workstation from individual parts. 6.1.3 Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL. 6.1.4 Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure components such as firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, DNS, and SANs 6.1.5 Knowledge of scripting language(s) such as Windows PowerShell, bash, or Python. 6.4 Skill Requirements 6.4.1 Proven work experience in IT 6.4.2 Ability to configure and test Windows servers and workstations. 6.4.3 Familiar with software/equipment used in the processing, repair, and testing of computers. 6.4.4 Ability to work with and train others in all aspects of the job and job requirements. 6.4.5 Ability to evaluate the strengths weaknesses of recommended solutions of problems and recommend solutions and procedures regarding the repair and processing of repairs. 6.4.6 Be able to read and fully comprehend information in written technical instructions, manuals, and data. 6.4.7 Information Technology certifications such as Microsoft, A+, N+ are a plus. 6.4.8 Must be able to communicate in a clear concise manner verbally, orally and in writing. 6.4.9 Maintain work area in a clean neat, uncluttered manner. 6.4.10 Maintain a work environment conducive to harmony and production in the workplace. 6.4.11 Quality Awareness in relation to Systel policies and procedures for Quality and apply said instructions.
