Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance quality across engineering design, fabrication, documentation, supplier engagement, and compliance. You will help maintain excellence across systems governed by NR10, NR12, NR13, PED, ASME, DNV-OS-D101, and DNV-ST-0145. You will work closely with engineering, project management, workshop teams, fabrication partners, and global manufacturing sites, helping to drive consistent quality and continuous improvement across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Documentation Quality & Compliance:

  - Review, update, and continuously improve engineering and project quality documents, including FAT packs, MRBs, ITPs, NCRs, close-out documentation, and technical files.

  - Review FAT documentation, NR13 documentation, supplier documentation, and fabrication QA records.

  - Support CE/UKCA technical file creation and ensure compliance with NR10, NR12, NR13, PED, ASME, DNV-OS-D101, DNV-ST-0145.

• Build Quality & Continuous Improvement:

  - Perform structured QA inspections on tubing, fittings, instrumentation, gauge placement, pressure testing and panel builds.

  - Champion a “right-first-time” culture by providing constructive feedback to teams.

  - Support improvement initiatives that strengthen build integrity and product reliability.

• Fabrication, Welding & Coating QA Oversight:

  - Review WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, weld inspection reports, and structural fabrication documentation.

  - Review and support enhancement of fabrication and welding procedures in line with PED and ASME requirements.

  - Perform or validate surface preparation, coating/painting inspections, including DFT, ensuring offshore-suitable finishes and accurate paint QA records.

• Supplier Quality & Global Collaboration:

  - Partner with global manufacturing sites to support consistent build quality, welding documentation, and instrumentation standards.

  - Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment with company quality expectations.

  - Lead supplier audits and support suppliers in adopting continuous improvement practices.

• Project Quality Support:

  - Assist PMs in establishing robust QA plans and quality gates throughout the project lifecycle.

  - Provide QA representation during pressure testing, FATs, client inspections and verification processes.

  - Support proactive document review to maintain project momentum.

Classification, Certification & IVB (Summarised)

• Support compliance with Classification Society requirements (e.g., BV) for hull-based and marine systems, including offloading and Inergen systems.

• Assist in Certification activities for systems such as fire-fighting, safety detection/HIPPS and topside E&I equipment.

• Support independent review of lifting appliances during design, fabrication and load testing.

• Coordinate with IVBs during design, fabrication and testing for compressors, pumps, treatment systems and recovery units.

What You’ll Bring

• Essential:

  - QA experience in mechanical, hydraulic, fabrication, or similar engineered systems.

  - Understanding of ITPs, MRBs, FAT documentation, NCR/CAPA processes.

  - WPS, PQR, weld QA documentation, coating and surface finish QA.

  - Knowledge of NR10, NR12, NR13, PED, ASME, DNV-OS-D101, DNV-ST-0145.

  - Experience collaborating with workshop teams and manufacturing partners.

  - Strong documentation and auditing skills.

• Desirable:

  - Offshore equipment QA familiarity.

  - Experience supporting fire suppression system QA.
