Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Mobile Lab Technician to join our innovative diagnostic team at Dr. Labike. This role involves conducting diagnostic tests in the field during medical camps. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently, interacting with patients, and operating cutting-edge portable diagnostic equipment on our Lab-on-a-Bike innovation platform.

Key Responsibilities:·       
Travel to various locations with the mobile lab to provide diagnostic services.
Set up and manage medical camps in communities, corporate offices, and public health initiative.
Collect, process, and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, etc.) with portable diagnostic devices.
Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results, following standard laboratory protocols.
Educate patients on basic health awareness and the importance of diagnostic testing.
Maintain and sanitize lab equipment and ensure proper storage of medical supplies.
Record and report test results accurately to doctors and relevant healthcare providers.
Always follow safety and hygiene regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service while engaging with patients in various locations.

Requirements:·       
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology (MLT) or a related field.
Willingness to travel extensively and work in field settings.
Ability to operate portable lab equipment and interpret test results.
Physical fitness to handle mobile lab setup and movements.
Passion for community healthcare and innovation in diagnostics.

Key Result Area.
1.  Performs all duties of a Phlebotomist in OPD area and Home Collection.
2.  Ensure that all disciplinary action is maintained as needed
3.  Ensure phlebotomy service personnel maintain a positive client/patient-focused attitude
4.  Effectively interacts in a pleasant, courteous and cordial manner with staff, and patients.

9.  Maintain Home collection kit and carry all required materials
10. Ensures all consumables used are within expiry date.

12. Ensure pre-labelling and verify Patient identification using Two unique identities
13. Assess patient suitability for collection (fasting status, posture, recent transfusions, medications where applicable).
14. Select appropriate vein and collect sample as per recommended technique
15. Maintain sample integrity during the transportation (Pack and transport specimens under appropriate conditions)
16. Maintain chain of custody and proper documentation
Report adverse events, needle stick injuries, or spillage incidents immediately.
Monitor patient for any adverse reactions (dizziness, hematoma, fainting) and manage appropriately.
Ensure samples are delivered to the laboratory within stipulated turnaround time.
Handle biohazard material and sharps according to biomedical waste disposal regulations.

21. Monitor and provide a monthly order error rate report or Pre-analytical indicators.
22. Maintains awareness of and ensures compliance with various regulatory guidelines i.e., ISO:15189, NABL etc. 
23. Ensures pending logs and performed in a timely manner.
24. Monitors and ensures adherence to quality control measures. 
Always maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information

26. Manage all the Home Collections.
27. If there is any issue in the OPD Area or Home collection, inform to the Lab Manager/Lab Director for the issue.
