Job Role - Technical Publication Engineer – EV / Material Handling

Experience - 5–7 Years

Role Summary - We are seeking an experienced Technical Publication Engineer with 5–7 years of expertise in developing technical manuals, service documentation, and engineering illustrations for Electric Vehicles (EV), Automotive, or Material Handling Equipment.

The role involves converting engineering design data into structured, standards-compliant documentation including Service Manuals, Operator Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC), and digital IETM/IETP content.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain: Service Manuals (SM), Maintenance Manuals (MM), Operator Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC), Assembly & Disassembly Instructions, Installation Manuals, Troubleshooting Guides.
•  Interpret and analyse: 2D & 3D engineering drawings, CAD models (SolidWorks), Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notes (ECN), Electrical schematics (EV systems).
• Create: Exploded views and technical illustrations, Parts breakdown structures, Step-based service and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure compliance with: S1000D (preferred), OEM documentation standards, Safety and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with: Program Management, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Service & Aftermarket Teams, EV Powertrain & Battery Engineering teams.
• Manage: Documentation lifecycle, Version control and change management, Controlled release of technical documents.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of: Mechanical systems and assemblies, EV powertrain components (Battery Pack, BMS, Motor, Controller), Hydraulic systems in material handling equipment, High-voltage safety documentation.

• Hands-on experience with:
• Adobe FrameMaker / Arbortext / MadCap Flare
• IsoDraw / CorelDRAW / Adobe Illustrator
• PLM tools

• Ability to: Convert complex engineering concepts into user-friendly manuals. Develop structured and modular documentation & create accurate exploded diagrams and part callouts.

• Strong command on English (both written and spoken)

• Educational Qualification:
• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
• Certification in Technical Writing or S1000D

• Domain Experience (Any One or More Preferred)
• Electric Vehicles
• Automotive OEM / Tier 1 suppliers
• Material Handling Equipment (Forklifts, Stackers, etc.)
• Industrial / Heavy Machinery
• Aerospace Technical Publications

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, High attention to detail, , Cross-functional collaboration skills, Ability to work in fast-paced engineering environments.
