KEY SKILLS
1. Technical Industry Knowledge
- Sector Awareness: A deep understanding of the Oil & Natural Gas supply chain, specifically pipeline infrastructure and related services.
- Product Expertise: Ability to explain technical specifications of Pipeway's products or services to engineers and procurement officers.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry safety standards (HSE) and environmental regulations common in Indian PSUs.
2. Strategic Communication & Networking
- Liaising with PSUs: Experience in navigating the complex hierarchy of government-owned companies to reach the right decision-makers.
- Presentation Skills: Capability to deliver high-quality technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Professional Networking: The ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, EPC contractors, and OEMs.
3. Business Development & Tendering
- Tender Management: Understanding the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal and the formal tendering process used by companies like ONGC and GAIL.
- Market Intelligence: Ability to track competitor activities, pricing trends (like Brent or domestic gas prices), and upcoming projects in the sector.
- Negotiation: Strong commercial acumen to handle techno-commercial discussions and contract finalization.
4. Essential Soft Skills
- Extensive Travel: Willingness to travel to various refineries, plant sites, and regional offices across India.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in English for formal documentation/presentations and Hindi for effective ground-level networking.
- Reporting: MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint) for daily activity reports and market analysis.
